I recently saw a contest for Simply Potatoes on Food.com. I said, what the heck. Although I don’t normally use a lot of prepared foods, I felt in the competitive spirit. After I got the bag of shredded hash browns home and studied the ingredients, I almost wanted to puke… I don’t think peeling and shredding potatoes is that big of a chore if you have the right equipment!
I noticed these potatoes were resistant to browning. You would practically have to deep fry them to get them nice and crisp. I think it was all the preservatives they were floating in in the bag.
